things i have 4got…
Daniel and I went to a mexican restaurant while we where in cambodia, and this little boy salesman comes up to us and asks daniel… “would you like to buy a book for your wife?” Daniel laughing says “She is not my wife,” the little boy turns and says, “would you like to buy a book for your girlfriend?” Daniel and i are about to laugh when Daniel says, “She is not my girl friend.” Once again the little boy asks, “Would you like to buy a book for your friend?” In the straightest face i have, i turned to the little boy and said, “he is not my friend.” The poor kid walked away puzzled. It was quite funny.
Today, April and I were walking past this really gross sign that says, “if they breed you bleed,” talking about mosquitoes. well i was all, “i am so glad that we don’t have gross adds like that at home, because it will be our luck that we will see a bus..” as i open my mouth… a breed and bleed bus passed us. see, singapore has these signs everywhere from the mrt (inner-city train) to buses, to posters. it is gross, so naturally, the day i say something, they are everywhere times three.
Oh, i totally know why that new indiana jones movie did not do so well, it was totally fake and too drawn out, but other than that it was a pretty good movie. well, dave has us organizing books in his office again, so i have to go!

sorry that it has been a while since i have been on, but internet access has been at a minimum for the past few days. so here is basically what has happened since we have returned from cambodia, besides me being sick for like ever now. it has been terrible, for the past like 5 days i have not been able to keep any food in my poor tummy! ahhh! we saw the new narnia movie, asked for donations for ‘friends of the disabled,’ and have just basically chilled for the past few days. it has been fairly nice. today we helped mr. and mrs. hogan with their conference that is coming up, we pretty much stapled papers, and put price tags on books that they are going to sell there. i hope that daniel learns a lot there!
ok, as of right now, we are debating what we are going to do for the next few hours….
oh, i forgot to tell you about the skol that we visited while we were in phom pein, it was weird, because 10,000 people were slaughtered at. no… it was not a skol ne more, but it was a huge torture center where many people of cambodia lost their lives for not being like everyone else. it was really sad.
ok, well april wants the computer now so ttyl8r

That One
as humans, compassion is a natural state of being. compassion motivates us, changes us, and gives us a since of understanding. we use compassion to make a change in our world, just as Jesus did. Jesus, through his actions, defines compassion for us and gives us an example to follow so that we can give the world our definition. today, i defined compassion, i gave the world my definition. we went to a small orphanage today, and played with the children, singing songs, and playing games, giving each child something new to hold onto. as many children as there were, there is always that one that really stands out to you, one that tugs at your heart, never wanting to let that child go. I met a little boy who was just learning to walk. (i could not pronounce his name, much less spell it, but it remains in my heart.) he only was wearing a blue-jean shirt that was made for a baby girl much smaller than him. no diaper, no pants, no shoes: only that little shirt. He stood in a corner along with a few other children, but it was almost as if he went unnoticed, because he was so small in comparison. at first, he would only let me touch his hand, but eventually he warmed up enough to pick him up, but only for a few seconds. as a began to look at him, i mean really look at him, i saw his fingers… two of his tiny fingers were cut and infected. thankfully, two wonderful girls, diana and julie, walked back to the hotel to get medical supplies to help clean his wounds. i held him while slept (during this time the two young ladies were gathering supplies). talking to the orphanage’s caretaker’s daughter (what a mouthful) i found out that this little boy was where he was because his father had beaten his mother to death, an his father left him to die, and for all the orphanage knows, the father is dead also. this child was going to grow up with out knowing the love of a mother or a father and with feelings of unrest and mistrust. there was nothing i could do but cry and pray for this little innocent who’s life was already in chaos because of foolish adults. when julie and diana arrive we addressed his wounds, only to find out that he had been in some type of incident with a bike (possibly a motor-bike) and that is why his fingers were torn. my heart cries for him as i am holding back tears thinking about him. if only i could bring him back home with me to keep him safe and out of harms way my heart would be content. as life is though, i left him along with the other children…. alone in the world of despair. the only thing that we can do is to have compassion. we need compassion to arouse awareness, and awareness to arouse a change.
K1D5 and the CrAz1n3sS of it all….
Hey!
Yesterday night, i was at the devo with the aggies and we talked about what we liked most about our day with the children who sell postcards and other nic-nacs at Angkor Wat. Something that i found interesting… all these children’s parents depend on them to work and make the bulk of the living in the families… some are even beaten for not selling enough. the cool thing about these kids is when they went from post card sellers to children. as we visit the sites, we ignore those annoying kids who are the bread winners for the families. That is not the point, the point is is that some of these kids were going to get beaten for nt selling… and worse… they gave some of their products to us for free! not only were they not making money, but osing money all for the effection that we were offering. I am so glad that God gave me the opportunity to see these little children who gave so much just to feel God’s love. It is amaxing how God draws these little ones to us so that we can share God’s glory with them. i just hope that we can make a bigger impact so that Jesus can be seen throught. What was really neat, not only were the children impacted, but others that passed by, aprently people were asking about us, and why we were playiung with the venders… the answer… to make them children, if only for a day.
So, now we have climbed one of the 7 wonders of the world, changed venders into children, turned munks into lifestories, and impacted the world.
Daniel and i went out and had a snack together (april was sick)… that was interesting… when we would try to talk the “venders” would come up and try to sell books and postcards and some of them are realy sharp and funny others are just so cute and others, just alittle annoying…. like the one that say you need to have more than one of everything. it is just sad to think that this is what there family depends on. well, i have an hour before weare going to an orphanage with the aggies, so i will post a little later. again, sorry about any added or missing letters, this key board is really tough to work with!
